ABOUT CENTRE

Making Music: RICE Symposium 2016

An Intellectual Gathering Point

The Washington Post calls Centre “one of the premier intellectual gathering points in its region.” Centre’s education is personal. You’ll make choices—about internships, study abroad, joint research, completing one or two majors in four years, or even designing your own major—that reflect your talents and interests. Your teachers will ask you to do your best—and work one-to-one to help you achieve success in an exciting, stimulating environment. Your fellow students also enhance your Centre experience. They’re bright (winning top national awards, including Rhodes, Fulbright, and Goldwater), fun- loving, and friendly. You’ll form relationships that last a lifetime.

The Centre Experience

At Centre, learning isn’t just in the classroom, it’s a total experience. Choose from more than 2,000 campus events a year: concerts, volunteer projects, religious activities, plays, parties, coffeehouses, movies, clubs, student government meetings and more. In athletics, the emphasis is on participation—in intramurals or at the Division III intercollegiate level. On the arts scene, we have some of the nation’s best offerings. Our Norton Center for the Arts regularly brings in world-class performers and shows.
